Prometeo is pleased to offer its loyal customers the Increased Oil Pan, designed for cars Abarth (500, Grande Punto, Punto Evo) but more generally usable on all models with 1.4 turbo engine.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Pan allows a lubricant capacity of about 2 liters greater than the standard one.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The product is configured as a real kit including, in addition to the Pan, the internal flap bulkhead, screws, accessories and an attractive aluminum load cap, which signals to those who perform maintenance the greater capacity of lubricant.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

One of the main problems of sports engines is heat. High temperature is the cause of many damages, such as the wear of mechanical components, micro gripping that cause loss of torque, abnormal consumption, loss of engine oil characteristics, etc.<\/span><\/p>\r\nFor this reason, the lubricating quantity of each engine is determined by the manufacturer with the utmost care. However, sometimes you feel the need to have something more, perhaps because you take advantage of the mechanics in some delicious occasion or in particular conditions of use.<\/span>\r\n

In engines with medium-high performance, the capacity of the O<\/span>il Pan ranges from 3.5 liters up to 10-12 liters of supercars.<\/span>\r\nIn the specific case of the 500 Abarth and the Punto Abarth this value is at the limit. The Oil Pan of the Abarth is sized for the power stock and therefore in the case of increased power consumption could be undersized.<\/span>\r\nUnder these conditions of use there would be a sharp increase in temperature in no time and the oil, failing to cool during its working cycle, would deteriorate very quickly.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

On modified cars, in the world of racing, in supercar engines, the amount of oil is essential to overcome the problem of high temperature. A larger oil pan has the advantage of dissipating a large amount of heat and to always guarantee an effective lubrication even in wide radius curves covered at high speeds or in the breaks at the limit.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The engines of the 500 Abarth, GPA, Punto-Evo suffer from high temperatures; therefore the extra two liters of oil guarantee:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

1) Less early decay of lubricant properties, which also results in more mileage between oil changes<\/span><\/p>\r\n

2) Increased oil cooling which prevents dangerous engine overheating<\/span><\/p>\r\n

3) Improved mechanical efficiency<\/span><\/p>\r\n

4) Possibility of using a slightly higher degree of viscosity; so, in case of heavy use as in track use, the oil can better withstand thermal stress, makes more and draws less from the oil seals<\/span><\/p>\r\n

5) Greater oil cleaning, thanks to the greater amount in circulation<\/span><\/p>\r\n

6) Continuous oil draft, thanks to the anti flap bulkheads<\/span><\/p>\r\n

7) Maximum heat exchange with the outside, thanks to the choice of material and the geometry of the cup, characterized by very accentuated fins<\/span><\/p>\r\n
